Christmas at the Explorers : a Pirate adventure at the gates of Disneyland®Paris - Explorers Hotel in Disneyland Paris

Christmas is one of the most magical moments of the year, with its decorations, its lights and especially the joy of sharing gifts and delicious meals in a friendly family moment! And it is at the Explorers hotel that the adventure awaits you to enhance this end of the year in a fairy-tale way! I think I heard it said that Captain Archibald managed to get Santa on board his ship, to amaze big and small pirates and to offer an unforgettable evening to all passengers and crew! But how? Santa Claus is so busy at the end of the year that his passage on board is an immeasurable chance! I wasn’t supposed to leak it, but the Captain getting off at the Explorers is his last stopover and nobody will know!

Let me introduce myself young sailor, you who may be planning to join us this holiday season, it is important that you know who I am.

My name is Jako, Captain Archibald’s parrot and right-hand man, finally, which makes me second in command! I know that a parrot is not supposed to rule a ship like the Explorers, but I have the full confidence of the crew and you will realise, as our adventures unfold, that I get the crew out of some… difficult situations! What did I say? Oh yes, the story of Santa Claus and us! Sit down comfortably, put some logs on the hearth and listen attentively, this story is only one of many to come !

The Captain Archibald and the Ice Dragon

“Morbleu! Santa Claus calls us for help!”

– I, Archibald, Captain of the Explorers and Destroyer of the Seven Seas…

– Wait a minute ! You are Jako, not the captain!

– Silence Sailor ! For the needs of this story, I will be the Captain Archibald! Don’t forget I’m the Second on this ship, listen my orders! So…

“I, Archibald, Captain of the Explorers and Destroyer of the Seven Seas, received on this day a missive from Santa Claus. And what a missive! In the night, all his gifts disappeared! What devils! I cannot let such a thing pass, oh that not! As Captain of the Explorers, I ordered my pirates to head for the Kingdom of Santa Claus, heading north, to help him rescue his presents! After a long journey through the icy waters of the far north, we arrive at the gates of his Kingdom. Deep in the frozen plains of Lapland, Santa Claus and his elves are in panic!

When we arrived, it was explained to us that the Ice Dragon had come in the night to take away the gifts, depriving all the world’s sailors of their presents…. What a horror! He did not count on the ship of Captain Archibald and his courageous crew, who cannot allow such an ignominy!”

– The gifts have been recoverded Jako?

– Do not run the story little sailor ! And I repeat, I’m the captain in this story, not Jako! In addition, you were present this day, so you know the end ! Stop to interrupt myself. So… I continue before the Captain Archibald, the real one, back on board!

“After enduring the bitter cold, the freezing wind and the beating snow, having crossed the dark forests of the Far North and faced the pack of Giant Wolves, the Snow Trolls and the malicious Farfadets, we arrived at the Ice Dragon Lair. Lying peacefully on the flank, the Dragon slept deeply. It was gigantic! More than the deep blue whales and more than the long-necked giraffes of Africa! It was terrifying, with its teeth, sharpened and pointed like huge stalactites, its wings whose only flutter ripped the trees and whose voice immediately silenced the songbirds and shook the surrounding mountains. His breathing alone stirred the air of the room to the point that many of our tricornes were spinning in the cave like small paper planes. Santa’s stolen gifts were waiting for us in his sharp claws, in his paws. Me and my proud pirates tiptoed around the Dragon to retrieve the precious gifts, when suddenly…”

– Jako? Finish your story fastly because the crew is getting hungry…

– Let me finish please! Band of fried whiting! The Captain will be here soon and he must not know I revealed the secrets of Santa to the entiere crew! I’m going back to my story…

“Me and my proud pirates tiptoed around the Dragon to retrieve the precious gifts, when suddenly… Two big orange and gold eyes came to illuminate the interior of the cave! By Poseidon, king of the oceans! He woke up. The Dragon rose up at once and shook the walls of his lair. He was terrible, but we were valiant! After a fierce struggle against this formidable opponent, my pirates and I triumphed over the Ice Monster and recovered all stolen gifts!”

– Jako? The Dragon didn’t eat anyone ?

– No, no but.. You were here with us in the fight or you were hidden on the Explorers, waiting for the end of the fight like a coward ?

– Hmm.. no, I’m, euh.. I was with you inside the Dragon’s lair… I promise!

– Of course, of course… Now let me finish or I release the Ice Dragon only for you! So…

“As a good pirate that I am, I first decided to keep them as loot! But Archibald is not a bad captain, quite the contrary, and I hastened to give them back to Santa, because the happiness of the little mosses represents far more than all the gold in the world in my eyes! So, Santa gave us his blessing and promised to come and celebrate Christmas with us on board the Explorers. How lucky ! What a privilege ! To thank him, we prepared for him an unforgettable evening and a meal worthy of the greatest explorers!”

– Jako? Why the Captain didn’t want to share this story with all the crew at board ?

– Good question! I think he doesn’t want to embarrass Santa before Christmas! In addition , Santa must come at board the 24th December!

Docked on the outskirts of Disneyland® Paris, our ship will have the honour of welcoming Santa Claus, between 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. for the pleasure of mosses and filibusters! He will be waiting for you at the restaurant ‘La Plantation’, which will allow you to enjoy his presence during your meal. Take advantage of this special moment with your family to capture this wonderful experience.

In addition to the presence of Santa Claus, workshops and activities will be on board between 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.!
