Every year, thousands of families plan their trip to Disneyland Paris with the same question in mind: which hotel should we choose to make sure everything goes perfectly? Price, availability, star ratings, tempting photos… it all matters, of course. But what people often realize too late, once they are there, with exhausted kids after a day at the park, is that the real question isn’t “which is the best hotel?” but rather, “which hotel is best designed for families visiting Disney?”
They are not the same thing.
A hotel can be luxurious, feature a five-star spa and impeccable room service, and still completely miss the point: providing a magical continuity to your stay, before and after the parks. That is exactly what we set out to build here at the Explorers Hotel.

Disneyland Paris is located in Marne-la-Vallée, in the town of Chessy (Seine-et-Marne). The Explorers Hotel is situated 5 minutes from the parks, 8 minutes from the Val d’Europe shopping center and the famous La Vallée Village, and just 30 minutes from Paris.
This location isn’t just a marketing pitch. It is a logistical reality that tangibly changes the quality of a family holiday. Here is why:
When traveling with children, travel time counts double. After a day packed with thrills, walking, and wonder, even the most intrepid kids end up falling asleep on their feet. The closer the hotel, the faster they get back to their cozy beds, and the faster you can savor those precious moments of evening calm, with the day’s smiles still fresh in your mind.
The Explorers Hotel in Marne-la-Vallée is just 1.2 miles (2 km) from the park and offers a free shuttle to and from the Disney parks. This shuttle, often underestimated when booking, quickly becomes THE detail you remember with the most gratitude at the end of your trip.
The free shuttle runs every 20 minutes (every 40 minutes during off-peak hours), from 8:00 AM until 2 hours after the Disney parks close.
In practical terms, this means you don’t have to worry about your car, the taxi rank, or the cost of a peak-hour Uber. You hop on the shuttle, and you hop off at the park gates. You can return whenever you want, even in the middle of the day if a child needs a nap or if the rain sets in.
It is this flexibility that turns an “okay” stay into a “successful” one. For those who prefer to drive, good news: parking is free for all reservations made directly through our booking engine.

Most accommodations near Disneyland Paris play the “springboard” card: you sleep there, you get ready there, and the real show begins at the park gates. The Explorers Hotel operates differently. First, because it is designed so that even non-Disney days are memorable, but also because not everyone has the budget to buy a park ticket for every day of their trip and that is completely normal.
On a 3- or 4-night stay, alternating a day at Disney with a day at the hotel is often the ideal rhythm: the kids catch their breath, recharge their batteries, or enjoy the on-site water park and games.
The Explorers features a 2,150 sq ft (200 m²) aquatic area with water slides and a themed pirate ship. Fully covered, it operates whatever the weather which, in Marne-la-Vallée in October or April, is a real luxury. Out of all the hotels near Disney with a pool, the Explorers’ water park is certainly the most impressive of the establishments located around Marne-la-Vallée. It is particularly popular with children aged 4 to 12.
The “Scally Wagg’s Jungle Adventure” indoor play area spans two levels, featuring a universe that includes a massive giant ball pit. For parents looking to keep the kids occupied while they enjoy a quiet coffee or a well-deserved break, it is the ideal solution: the kids are engrossed, happy, and safe, and you can catch your breath. Added to this are an arcade room and a 10D cinema offering 3D images, interactive seats, and special effects (wind, light, sound) for an extra immersive experience.
You know how complicated it can be to house a family of 6, 8, or even 10 people without splitting your group across multiple corridors. The ingenuity of the Explorers lies in its large connecting rooms. You benefit from a unified space, ensuring easy supervision of the children and a convivial atmosphere that you will rarely find in standard Marne-la-Vallée hotels. Sturdy bunk beds, storage space, a TV with international channels, a kettle, and a bathroom with a separate toilet: the rooms are designed for families who come back exhausted and need real, fuss-free comfort.
The hotel has 5 dining outlets, including La Plantation, offering a buffet for breakfast and dinner with a wide variety of dishes.
The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate, a significant plus for families keeping a close eye on their budget. A “Captain’s Breakfast” is also available for a supplement, featuring eggs, sausages, and pancakes.
For kids who are picky eaters or, conversely, starving after a well-deserved night’s sleep, the buffet format allows everyone to help themselves exactly as they please.

If you are planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, here is what twenty years of experience in family accommodation has taught us:
It isn’t a question of prestige or star ratings. It is a question of fit. The Explorers Hotel was designed from A to Z for a specific audience: families with children who come to Disneyland Paris for a complete experience, not just to tick a box on their travel list.
Immediate proximity to the parks, a free and frequent shuttle, rooms adapted for large families, an indoor water park, flexible on-site dining, and a pirate-themed atmosphere that extends the magic: it is this overall cohesion that makes it, for many, the benchmark accommodation in Marne-la-Vallée for a family stay at Disney.
