The Explorers Hotel is a large family of pirates who work together to make your stay at Disneyland® Paris unforgettable. We went to meet the Head Chef of our family hotel, Vivega Pourouchottemin, who has been working in the kitchens on board our vessel for 6 years. He explains to us our different offers:
La Plantation restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. But it can also be opened for lunch for seminars. The Captain’s Library is the à la carte restaurant of the Explorers Hotel. It offers a cozy and intimate atmosphere in a decor representing the library of the explorer and our founder Sir Archibald. There is also Marco’s Pizza Parlour. This is a take-away pizzeria with pizzas and salads. And finally we have the Point Gourmand, which was set up at the hotel 3 years ago. This area is very popular with families. Open from 4 pm to 10 pm, it allows you to take a snack at the end of the day. It has been equipped for a year with quality ice cream, with original and long standing favourite flavours.
Since March, the Hotel Explorers has offered new products at breakfast. “Our breakfast is made up of excellent French pastries, cooked in the morning on site, to ensure a delicious and fresh flavour to our guests. What a delight for our adventurers! We have also added sliced gouda, St Mamet chocolate spread, mini-brioche with sugar, muesli, seasonal fresh fruits… And for the gourmets it is always possible pay a supplement: “English breakfast” with eggs, hash browns, bacon and baked beans “.
In the evening, to regain strength, many options are available to our explorers. “Our team varies the dishes according to the different times of the year. We offer quality and seasonal products. The meals proposed are chosen from day to day, depending on arrivals. I give to our chefs the opportunity to let their imagination speak and to offer me delicious recipes. Our buffet is composed of a set of hot and cold dishes that we try to update regularly. And finally, we have the Captain’s Library which renews its menu three times a year in order to offer fresh and seasonal products. We offer dishes that correspond to our family clientele.
The crew responsible for catering to the Explorers Hotel has the same objective every evening: be organised, reactive and smiling! Those qualities are essential to welcome our customers at the various points of sale.
The Head Chef of the Explorers Hotel has several missions. First of all, he must delight the taste buds of our dear explorers. But he is also an actor committed to sustainable development. That is why he has set out to put in place a number of actions. “As far as the products we cook are concerned, we try to offer as many local products as possible, such as our salads from suppliers in the Paris region, for example. The aim of these actions is to reduce the impact of the hotel’s activity on the environment. They also enable us to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of our customers.
We also carry out a selective sorting of our waste, from which we remove the cartons that we put in a specific container. We also try to choose products requiring the least packaging and then I would like to set up eco-labeled products.”
